Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Cyber Crime Police said fraudsters have come up with a new scam called WhatsApp Lucky Draw. The scammers claim that the new lucky draw is being conducted by WhatsApp and mobile service providers in India.

The bait is the WhatsApp Winners Certificate that is being sent out to fall for the scam. The certificate will have the seal, signature, bar code, and QR code. The certificate will include the winner’s name and phone number. With lottery numbers and information on winning lakhs of prizes. This will include the contact person’s name and number for more information about the gift.

The Cyber Crime Police said do not scan the QR code shown on the WhatsApp Winners Certificate for any reason. Scanning for information can lead to the leakage of banking and personal information on the phone and the loss of money. E-mail ID The first scam was to say that Lucky was selected in the draw. Later it was said that the phone number was selected. The new-look of this is going through WhatsApp.
