Kerala Police rescued kidnapped pet dog, reunited with owner

Kochi: Patchouli, who was resting at home, was ‘kidnapped’ on Wednesday night. Gandhi Nagar police tracked down the abductors on social media and found Patchu in Thrissur less than 48 hours later and handed him back to his owner.

Patchu is Akhil Mathew’s pug dog from SH Mount. Patchu was ‘kidnapped’ on Wednesday night. Patchu was abducted by Vavachan alias Unnimarippadi Sreedev, the accused in several cases.

The dog was taken straight home. The dog was shown to a friend called Jism and handed it over for sale. The dog was handed over to a man in Thrissur on Thursday.

Before handing over, Sreedev’s sister took a selfie with Patchu. When the people of Thrissur took away the dog, the sister posted a selfie picture on Facebook. Following this, the Gandhinagar police found Patchu in Thrissur. There are seven cases pending against Sreedev at Gandhinagar station. Gandhinagar SHO said that further investigation is underway into the incident. Mr. K. Shijimon said.
