The governor who is watching the developments closely told the officials that the interests of the public must be protected. Sources say that the Chennai Police Commissioner has sought from all police stations in the city on the law and order status under their respective jurisdiction. A round-the-clock surveillance and raids at lodges, mansions, marriage halls and other places of public congregation, in order to prevent anti-socials taking shelter at these places has been ordered by the Police Commissioner.  ]]>
