HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad Traffic Police has said that using a mobile phone and at the same time driving a vehicle has emerged as one of the leading crime committed in Cyberabad for the past three years. In 2016, nearly 13,600 cases were booked and a total fine amount of `1,35,55,400 and 55,400 was collected, Cyberabad Traffic Police told Policenewsplus. According to Mr A R Srinivas, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Cyberabad, “Talking or texting on cell phones and driving the vehicles has become one of the major offences. While we are currently only levying fines on these offenders, only the amendment to the Motor Vehicles Act (MVA) will ensure that the licenses of the violators are suspended for using a mobile phone while driving, and people will be more careful”, he said.]]>
