Thiruvananthapuram: The crime branch Police in Kerala will investigate the recent mysterious death of an 18-year old girl pursuing Chartered Accountancy in Kochi, the Chief Minister Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan has said in the state assembly today. The girl’s body was found in the backwaters near Ernakulam wharf last week. The family alleged that the girl died under mysterious circumstances as they feel there was no possibility of attempting suicide. A special investigation team of the Crime Branch will investigate the case said Kerala Chief Minister Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan while replying to a notice of adjournment motion moved by Kerala Congress (J) leader Anoop Jacob. The CM assured the Assembly that the investigation was going on in the right direction and those responsible would be brought before law, however, highly-placed they may be. “Police have intervened into the issue effectively after receiving the missing complaint by the girl’s parents. The Police immediately tried to collect her mobile phone details and launched thorough investigation” the Cm said. “Considering the gravity of the issue the Crime Branch will further probe the case” Chief Minister added. The claim that the local Police had refused to accept the complaint by the girl’s parents on March 5, the day she had went missing will be probed, he said.]]>
