Gujarat Police act tough, 20 accused sent to jail under PASA

SURAT: Since March 1 Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA) were slapped by the city Police on 20 offenders who were sent to different jails out of the city. Majority of them were bootleggers, Police said. 12 bootleggers were detained under PASA by Police of whom two are women. Police detained seven people under PASA for their involvement in violent acts and one person was found selling beef. Action against these offenders were initiated by Police as they were found to be involved repetitively in different cases. The bootleggers were sent to jails in Rajkot, Bhuj, Porbandar, Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar.  ]]>
