LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh government today said it was acting only against the illegal slaughter houses in the houses. Health Minister Siddhartha Nath Singh said, we are acting only against illegal abattoirs. Licensed slaughterhouses are requested to stick to the norms”. “Those licensed slaughter houses complying with the norms mentioned in the license need not to fear,” he said. “Shops selling chicken, fish or eggs need not fear as no order has been issued against them’’, Singh clarified. He directed the officials that they should not act in over-enthusiasm nor should they overstep their jurisdiction. Mr. Singh said, “Fixing CCTV cameras in the premises of slaughter houses is one of the norms mentioned and if this norm is not complied with, then instead of ordering the closure of the slaughter house, a notice may be issued to its owner, and he be instructed to take necessary remedial steps within a specific timeframe”, the Minister said.  ]]>
