Traffic Police officer assaulted by Auto driver, friends

MUZAFFARPUR: A traffic police officer was beaten up by an auto rickshaw driver along with his friends in Bihar when they were stopped by the police officer for driving on the wrong side of the road. 

The police officer stopped the auto rickshaw driver at the Aghoria Bazar chowk in Muzaffarpur on Tuesday for driving on the wrong side. On being stopped, the driver became angry and called his friends to the spot. He along with his friends then started beating up the police official.

The police officer who was injured was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. A case has been filed under relevant sections of the law and further investigation in the matter is underway.

The accused are yet to be arrested.
