Mumbai Police arrested youth accused for stalking, abusing college student

Mumbai: The Mumbai Police arrested a youth who used to stalk and harass a college student aged 19 in South Mumbai on Saturday. The Dongri police identified the accused as Shalmon Gaikwad aged 24. He was booked under IPC sections for outraging the modesty of woman, stalking and passing gestures was remanded to police custody. She said to the police that he stalked her, held her hand, spat on the door and later abused her and her mother on social networking sites. She added saying, in December 2018, Gaikwad, who used to reside in her locality but later shifted to Prabhadevi. He would stare at her regularly. He would stalk her both when she is on her way to college and back home.]]>
