Police killed Naxal in the encounter and seized Rs 1lakh

SUKMA: Chattishgarh police hunted down a Naxal during the exchange of firing in Sukma district on Tuesday morning. The security forces Rs 1lakh together with his body. The encounter had taken place in a forest area near Birabhatti village which is located around a 500km distance away from the state capital Raipur. The security force was on their way to counter-insurgency exercise in the area. They were patrolling through the forest when suddenly the sound of gun firing began from the opposite direction. Following the gunshot, the gun battle broke out between the security forces and the Naxals which continued for a while said Deputy Inspector General, Sundarrai P. Fortunately, no security personnel had been injured he added. Soon, the Naxals realized their weakness, fled the spot and escaped into the thick forest. During the gun battle, security forces managed to hunt down a Naxal, who was considered to the secretary of the rural party committee of Naxals named Mdkam Hidma said the police official. He was presumably rewarded with Rs 1lakh for the completion of some great task. Police also recovered two country-made guns from the spot.
