Police held 9 culprits involved in red sanders smuggle

Tirupati: On Monday, near Kummarapalli in Renigunta mandal of Chittoor district, nine culprits, who illegally smuggled red sanders of 94 logs were arrested by Anti-Smuggling task force sleuth. The intensive checking was done while police had received hints about the smuggling act. Later, Anti-smuggling task force senior officials inspected the spot of red sanders under the guidance of the arrested. The red sanders smugglers were identified to be the locals of Tirupati and surrounding areas. Belongings of the arrests were also seized such as three bikes and a car. At the same time, police also caught 12 sand loaded tractors near Gorigenuru in Jammalamadugu on Monday. The owners were illegally carrying out mining sand from the Pennar river bed that was supposed to be taken to Nandyal in Kurnool district. Police have registered a case against the twelve residents of the town farmers who resorted to be illegal sand mining for commercial purpose and against those red sanders smugglers.  ]]>
