Police held a wanted criminal after encounter

KARNAL: A resident of Mahavati village of Panipat district Mr. Pawan had been arrested by police on Friday after being sustained bullet injury on his left leg. He was one of the most wanted criminals. According to the tip-off police received, crime investigation agency-2 in charge Deepak kumar constituted two teams and had laid a snare near Zarifa farm. Seeing the police vehicle Mr. Pawan tried to flee on a motorcycle. The teams seeing his flee pursued after him. While police were after him, Mr. Pawan opened fired at the chasing policemen in order to stop chasing him. In retaliation, police force cross-fired at him during which he received left leg injury. Following the incident he was taken to the civil hospital for medical treatment. Besides, police recovered belongings such as bike, a country-made pistol, three used and two live bullets from the criminal. During the investigation, Karnal Superintendent of police learnt that Pawan had been arrested earlier too and sentenced life imprisonment for involving in two cases but came out on parole from Hisar jail. Not only that, about 17 cases of murder, attempt to murder, loot, and snatching had been registered against him in Karnal and Panipat. His two accomplices had been arrested earlier. Police documented a case against him and further investigations are underway.  ]]>
