Police registered cases against the undertrials

FEROZEPUR: Police have booked five persons including a woman who sneaked drugs into jail. The accused have been identified as Rajinder Singh, Sandeep Singh, Ajay Kumarm (jailors) and Manjit Singh and Pooja Rani (wife of Ajay) prison visitors. Jail Guards recovered 148 intoxicating drugs and a SIM card from the visitors. According to police, the duo Manjit and Pooja had come to meet three under trials in the jail. While frisking, a medical officer discovered that Manjit had hidden tablets in his private parts. Immediately, all of them were booked under sections 42 and 52-A of the Prisoners Act. Pooja was released on bail and Ranjit was arrested too. Earlier in the search out, as many as 13 mobile phones along with SIMs were recovered from the jail premises. Again, after five persons arrest, three mobiles were recovered from the Central Jail during a search from under trials. They have been identified as Sajan and Davinder Kumar. A case has been registered against them at the city police station.]]>
