From Sep 2018 to Aug 2019, 292 Indian cops sacrificed their life for Nation


Delhi: Over the Nation between September 2018 and August 2019, Indian Cops 292 policemen, including of paramilitary forces like the CRPF and BSF, have sacrificed their lives in the series of duty.

From Independence to till August this year noticed that over 35,000 police personnel have lost their lives for the country.

This year 40 CRPF personnel killed by the terrorist attack at Pulwama in Kashmir. Besides, 41 personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF), 23 of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and 24 of Jammu and Kashmir Police were killed during the one-year period.

The list also covers 20 Maharashtra Police personnel, including 15 killed in a landmine explosion triggered by Maoists in Gadchiroli district in May this year.

Also, 6 of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), 7 of Bihar Police, 10 each of Delhi Police and Rajasthan Police, 11 of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), 12 of Karnataka Police, and 14 personnel of Chhattisgarh Police were killed throughout the period.

The list also combined the Cops killed from police forces of Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Manipur, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh and Tripura, and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Assam Rifles.

The state policemen held martyred while fighting with terrorists, Naxals, liquor, rowdies and sand mafias and on other law and order charges. Since by the records, the maximum number of paramilitary jawans killed while fighting with cross-border terrorism and Naxalism inside the nation.

From Independence to August 2019, total 35,136 police personnel lost their lives for safeguarding the country and giving security to the public, it appended.

The names of 292 martyrs would be read out during the Police Commemoration Day functions on October 21st. On Police Commemoration Day, proudly recalling the valour of all courageous police personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
