Chennai: The Chennai Police arrested a person aged 41 on Friday in Mylapore for exploiting women. The man used to befriend women on social media and end up stealing their jewelry and valuables on the pretext of marriage. He used to befriend women and promise to marry them and then he would extract the woman’s belongings and cheat her. The accused, Jayachandran was arrested based on a complaint by a 31-year-old woman physiotherapist in Mylapore. He would target divorced or estranged women over social media, and extract their phone numbers. He then made false promises of marriage, the police said.
