Madurai: In January 2020, in view of the Road Safety Week eye testing and examination camp was held at the Madurai District Police office campus for the motorists. Distribution of free eyeglasses for motorists with minor disabilities was done at the Madurai District Police Office campus yesterday.

On the leadership of the District Superintendent of Police, Mr. N. Manivannan IPS, 59 vehicle drivers were provided with spectacles. Following this, the Madurai District Superintendent of Police said that you must give value to your life and motorists should follow the traffic and road rules. He advised the motorists that a loss of life is irreparable.

He warned that overloading autos with people and loads were a criminal offense. He added that steps are being taken to reduce the accident rate in the Madurai district this year compared to the previous year. In this camp that was conducted ADSP., Mrs. Vanitha, DCP DSP., Mrs. Vinodini, and various police personnel, community activists and motorists participated.
