CCTV, 25 additional Policemen to guard GH hospitals in TN

CHENNAI: The level of security is set to be increased in all government medical institutions it was decided in a meeting held between health department’s principal secretary Dr J Radhakrishnan and the government hospital officials. As a first step additional 25 Policemen will guard the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital premises in addition to the present security in place. The decision comes in the wake attack on a Government doctor that led to protests at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. The health department has now promised greater security in hospitals. Dr J Radhakrishnan after a closed-door meeting held at the Dean’s office in the hospital on Friday said, “It is agreed to fulfill their reasonable demands”. The entire hospital premises will have Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras and all entry points, casualty, trauma wards, emergency wards, ICU and in 15 days surveillance cameras will be fixed in all the wards identified by the security committee, he said.]]>
