The Upparpet police arrested three people which included a private firm employee for allegedly misbehaving with a 27-year-old woman during a dispute over vacating a seat in the Namma Metro. This happened between Cubbon Park station and Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station, Majestic on Saturday around 10.30 p.m. The woman was returning home from Chinnaswamy stadium. After boarding the train she asked a man sitting in a seat in the first coach to get up, saying it was reserved for women. Once the man got up, his two friends joined him and they started passing lustful comments and harassed her, the woman alleged. Even though she objected, they continued to harass her till the train reached Nadaprabhu Kempegowda station and even following her in the station after she got off the train, she alleged. The woman caught hold of one of the men and started shouting for help. Two security guards reached the spot and took the man to the control room and alerted the police. The Police reached the station and took the man to Upparpet police station, and the woman was asked to file a complaint. Based on the complaint, filed by the woman the Upparpet police charged the man under Section 354 (assault or criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modesty). The police arrested the two others on Sunday and remanded them in judicial custody after producing them in court. The accused have been identified as Hariharan aged 28, Anil Kumar aged 25, and Mahadeshwara aged 20.
