Gold seized by Customs officials at airport from Indian Nationals returning from Bangkok


Bhubaneswar: The Airport security Department seized gold from two passengers on Wednesday.

The gold was seized at Biju Patnaik International Airport which weighed 278.83 gm and is valued at Rs. 9.08 lakh, said the officials who intercepted the two passengers.

The passengers’ luggage were searched by the airport security officers and they found white gold rings of foreign origin having purity of 99.99% concealed under buttons of garments, the officials said.

They belonged to West Bengal and Jharkhand. They had arrived from Bangkok.
