Police arrested History Sheeter for damaging car

In connection with the incident that happened on Tuesday, Mr. Vijay Kumar, DCP (West) said that during the inquiry conducted to identify the accused involved in the incident, they scanned CCTVs in the area and mobile footage that were doing the rounds on social media. The statements of eyewitnesses were also recorded.

Mr. Kumar said that several teams have been formed by the Delhi Police to identify and arrest the people involved in the incident. Analysis of CCTV footage of a large number of shops and Kanwariya camps on the road were done. A comparison and scrutiny was made with the records of Kanwariya camps and criminals en -route the destination of police stations falling on the Najafgarh Road.

A police team working in the case zeroed in on a man identified as Rahul alias Billa, a resident of Gurpreet Nagar in Uttam Nagar. He had a theft case registered against him in Uttam Nagar police station.

The police interrogated him and on his confession of his involvement in the vandalism of a car in Moti Nagar on Tuesday he was arrested on Thursday. He was also to be seen on the CCTV footage.

The police are carrying out further investigation for recovery of weapon used in the offense and to arrest the co-accused.
