It is the initiative of Community Development Cell of Dakshin Dinjpur Dist. Police, Govt of West Bengal to empower women and children in self defence.
Today at Khadimpur girls High school at Balurghat, Dakshin Dinajpur, the programme started with 40 girl students.
So far under this programme total 6 schools have been covered with 240 students.
The programme is for self defence, discipline and overall development of physical and mental strength of girls as part of women empowerment.
The programme is named SUKANYA for girl students from class VIII to XII in which students are provided dress materils of Taekwando and this martial arts is taught in the schools with master trainer from the Police Dept.
