A senior police officer said on Monday that a human trafficker and seven minor children belonging to the primitive Pahariya tribe have been rescued and arrested in Pakur districtof Jharkhand. The human trafficker was taking the children to Uttar Pradesh on the pretext of providing them jobs. Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ashok Kumar Singh said that a police team conducted a raid at Amrapara bus stand following a tip-off, and rescued the children all aged around 12-14 years six of whom were residents of Amrapahar block of Pakur district while one belonged to Gopikandar block of Dumka distric. The human trafficker was also arrested while they were about to board a bus to Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.
