Siliguri Police have arrested a number of anti-social elements and drug peddlers

Siliguri: With the continuous, vigilant, and concerted efforts by personnel from the Matigara, Pradhan Nagar, Bhakti Nagar, and Bagdogra Police Stations have led to the arrest of a number of anti-social, and regular drug peddlers on 12/06/21.

Team of Matigara Police Station arrested three criminals namely Manoj Biswas, of Sadhanmore, P.S. Matigara; Sultan Islam of Netaji Nagar, Bhaktinagar Police Station and Maksidul Haque of Netajinagar, Bhakti Nagar Police Station and recovered  275 grams of Brown Sugar from their exclusive possession, and seized one Bajaj Pulsar Motorcycle in which they were traveling.

Besides being habituated drug peddlers, Islam and Haque are also blacklisted in police records as hardened criminals, especially when it comes to a crime involving the property.

Acting on a tip-off, a squad from Bhaktinagar Police Station conducted a raid at the residence of one Khitish Barman of Santipara, Salugara (Ward No. 42), and seized 8 kg of Ganja from his possession.

Similarly, the Pradhan Nagar police have arrested a drug peddler namely Bikky Sahani of the Coolipara area, and have recovered and seized,  30 bottles of REXDRYL Cough Syrup and 33 strips of Winspasmo capsules from his possession.

Officers and men of Bagdogra Police Station also arrested one drug peddler namely Pabitra Singha of Salkia vita Matigara Police Station from Biharmore and recovered 147 Bottles of cough syrup from his possession.  Legal steps have been initiated against all the arrested persons.
