Siliguri: A new campaign “RESPECT WOMEN” has been started by Siliguri Metropolitan Police today for the safety and security of Women.

In this “RESPECT WOMEN” campaign, vehicle stickers were pasted on vehicles, particularly on taxis by Senior Police Officials and other dignitaries at Bagdogra Airport and NJP Taxi Stands.

The stickers are provided with the emergency helpline numbers of Siliguri Metropolitan Police and also have boxes marked to note down the owner’s name, his/her contact number, and vehicle registration number.

Solo female passengers are encouraged to take a snapshot of the sticker and share it with their family members prior to starting their journey.

Doing so will enhance their safety as a vehicle can be easily traced should any untoward incident occur. The Police helpline numbers will be operational 24 x 7.
