Kolkata : From Facebook friendship to financial fraud. Acting on a suggestion from a woman he had met on Facebook, a Kolkata doctor agreed to invest in gold bars, but later changed his mind and asked for his money back. To his dismay, not only did his ‘friend’ vanish, but Rs 42 lakh was transferred from his account to another account through the Razorpay payment gateway. On the hunt for the owner of the second account, our investigators – Inspector Shukla Sinharoy, Sub-Inspector Indranil Ghosh, ASI Monojit Das, and Constables Debasis Sarkar and Soumen Patra – reached Mumbai.
