‘50-Member Special Team Formed to Arrest Dawood Ibrahim’, Centre

NEW DELHI:  A new blueprint to arrest absconding underworld don Dawood Ibrahim has been formed by the Central government. Five new investigative teams comprising 50 officers has been formed. The teams have been mandated to dismantle Dawood Ibrahim’s business empire spread over several countries.  The Special Team A Special team comprising of officers from various departments, Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax Department, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Interpol wing of the CBI have been crated. They have been asked to monitor Dawood and his gang’s movement and activities in Pakistan, UAE and other countries. 11 close associates of Dawood Ibrahim, who run his business across the globe have been identified. Seven companies dealing in aviation, power, oil, construction to garment are on the radar of the investigators.  Dawood Restricts Movement to Karachi The intelligence agencies have credible information about Dawood’s deteriorating health, which has confined him to Karachi. Even in Karachi, his movement is restricted. Six customized bullet proof land cruisers have been brought from Dubai for Dawood’s family in which Dawood and his family members have been moving around bullet. In Karachi Dawood lives in the name of Sheikh Ismail Merchant. He doubts and fears for his life in even in Pakistan. Dawood has stopped attending phone calls for security reasons. Mehzabin Sheikh, his wife is learnt to be receiving all the calls on his behalf and passing instructions for all operations.]]>
