Siliguri: On May 25, 2023, an inaugural ceremony was held for a CCTV control room under the jurisdiction of Pradhanagar Police Station. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Honorable CP Siliguri, along with other senior police officers. This state-of-the-art control room is equipped with access to 75 CCTV cameras strategically placed at different locations.
The deployment of these CCTV cameras is expected to have a transformative impact on various aspects of public safety and security. The primary objectives include combating criminal activities, ensuring the maintenance of law and order, and facilitating efficient traffic regulations. The implementation of digital surveillance through this network of cameras will significantly enhance the overall safety and security measures in the area.
Among the 75 newly installed CCTV cameras, a total of 30 cameras have been strategically placed in the Champasari more to Tindharia more area. This coverage will enable comprehensive monitoring and surveillance of this specific region, aiding in the identification and prevention of criminal activities.
Similarly, another set of 16 CCTV cameras has been installed to cover the stretch from Circuit house more to Samarnagar battala area. This targeted installation will enable effective surveillance in an area prone to various security concerns.
Furthermore, the remaining 29 CCTV cameras have been strategically positioned from Darjeeling More to Ila Paul Choudhary school more area. This extensive coverage will ensure enhanced surveillance capabilities, thus contributing to a safer environment and improved law enforcement in this specific locality.
