Bijapur: As an encounter broke out between the Naxals and the personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) three personal of the CRPF were martyred in Keshkutul area of Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. A person belonging to the village also died in the cross firing between the security forces and the Naxals. One CRPF Jawan was martyred at the site of the encounter and the other security officials succumbed to their injuries later. Additionally a backup party of the security forces had also been dispatched to the site of the encounter. The Naxals conducted the attack on the CRPF personnel of the 199 Battalion as they were on an area domination operation at the site. The CRPF personnel who were martyred have been identified. The details of the martyred CRPF personal are ASI/GD Mr. Mahadeva P aged50 who is a resident of Karnataka’s Gulbarga, ASI/GD Mr. Madan Pal Singh aged 52 who is a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh and Mr. Saju O P aged 47 who is a resident of Kerala’s Idukki. During the encounter, a pick-up van came within the radius of the encounter between the security forces and the Naxals when a villager in the vehicle suffered bullet injuries.
