Hyderabad: Accompanied by the heads of Traffic, Law and Order, and Special Branch, City Police Commissioner Mr. CV Anand led a route inspection starting from the prominent Balapur Ganesh Temple, encompassing several significant areas along the way, in preparation for the Ganesh idols procession and immersion, which is just 48 hours away. The inspection route covered the 19 km procession route from Balapur to Hussain Sagar, including key locations such as Chandrayanagutta, Charminar, Nayapool, MJ Market, Telugu Talli Flyover, Secretariat, and People’s Plaza. Commissioner Anand instructed the zonal Deputy Commissioners of Police to work collaboratively, especially at the convergence point of the processions at MJ Market. Senior officers were entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the procession’s movement at critical junctions and providing essential guidance to subordinates.

During the inspection near Charminar and Telugu Talli Flyover, Commissioner Anand emphasized the importance of clear signage to direct vehicles carrying the idols based on their height specifications. He also underscored the significance of a scientific evaluation of the route, which included verifying height restrictions, identifying and addressing low-lying wires, and pinpointing potential obstacles that could impede the procession. The comprehensive inspection concluded at People’s Plaza, where senior officials meticulously reviewed logistics and deployment plans for managing heavy crowds around Hussain Sagar.

In addition to the city police staff, additional personnel from other districts and allied branches will also be deployed, bringing the total force deployment to around 25,694 personnel and 125 platoons. A shift system of duties for even officers has been newly planned at 18 important junctions like MJ Market, Afzalgunj, Ambedkar statue, and NTR Marg, among others. Three RAF personnel and other paramilitary forces have reported. Five drone teams are being deployed, and the main routes and tributary areas are fully covered by CCTVs after necessary repairs.

Various roads in the city that are part of the procession will either remain closed for regular traffic or see traffic diversions. Multiple Quick Response Teams, dog squads, anti-chain snatching teams, and SHE teams will also be deployed. The joint command control center, comprising senior officers from departments such as GHMC, HMDA, Transco, Water Works, RTA, Medical and Health, etc., will be fully operational from the early hours of September 28th at TSPICCC.

The City police appeal to the public to cooperate with law enforcement officials and follow safety guidelines to ensure that this year’s Ganesh idols procession and immersion is a memorable and incident-free celebration.

Participating in the route inspection were Mr. Vikram Singh Mann, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order); Mr. Sudir Babu, Additional Commissioner of Traffic; Mr. Viswa Prasad, Additional Commissioner of Special Branch and Traffic; and the Deputy Commissioners of Police for Law and Order.
