The victim was enjoying the Karam Puja festival with other members of her community when the incident occurred. It was reported that the perpetrator had used a sharp cutting weapon to take the life of his own spouse.

The accused was found guilty of the heinous crime and was subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment, which means he will spend the rest of his life in jail.
