Police arrested 2 persons for causing assault

Chennai: Bharath (32), a resident of 7th Street, JJ Nagar, Puliyanthoppu, Chennai, runs a box store near his house. On the night of 4.6.2022, while Bharath’s wife Neelavathi was in the box store, Manikandan asked for smoking a cigarette for free. Neelavathi refused to give him the cigarette for free and so Manikandan told inappropriate words to Neelavathi.     On hearing these words Neelavathi and her husband Bharath scolded Manikandan for saying inappropriate words to Neelavathi. Manikandan went from there and told his friend Appu alias Sridhar.

The two came to the shop and quarreled with Bharath and attacked Bharath with a knife. Immediately, Bharath came with a knife from his house and attacked Manikandan and Sridhar, while his wife Neelavathi took a stone and threw it at them. Manikandan and Appu alias Sridhar fled when they saw the public coming to the shop hearing the noise.

Bharath was admitted to the hospital and was treated, while recovering from the injured a case was registered at the P-1 Puliyanthope police station on the complaint lodged by Bharath and 1 case was registered at the P-1 Puliyanthoppu police station on the complaint lodged by the injured Manikandan.The police team led by P-1 Puliyanthope Police Inspector conducted a serious investigation and arrested Manikandan (30) of Vyasarpadi, on a complaint lodged by Bharath. Similarly, Bharath (32) of Puliyanthoppu and his wife Neelavathi (41) were arrested on a complaint lodged by Manikandan. 1 knife was confiscated from them.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Bharath had a historical record at P-1 Puliyanthoppu police station and is guilty and there are 11 criminal cases against him.

The three arrested adversaries were produced in court yesterday on 11.6.2022 and remanded in custody as per the court order. Police are also on the lookout for Appu alias Sridhar, who is in hiding.
