Chennai: According to the Chennai Traffic Police, the fixed amount of fine will be collected from those who violate the rules. It has been decided that Rs.1000 will be charged for the first time for those who drive while talking on their cell phones; Rs.10, 000 fine will be charged for the second time.
A fine of Rs.1, 000 will be imposed on those who do not wear helmets and seat belts. A fine of Rs.500 will be imposed for the first time and Rs.1, 500 will be imposed for the second time on signal violators.
According to the new law, the penalty is not only for the drunk driver, but also for the person sitting behind.
