Pune Traffic Police saved life of citizens

Pune: The incessant rainfall, which caused sudden compound wall collapsed, killed around 15 people including four children and one woman in the early hours of Saturday, said the police commissioner. In an unprecedented tragedy, police, fire brigade and National Disaster Response force personnel hurried to the collapsed spot, rescued many laborers, and recovered 15 casualties during the operation. Majority of the laborers hailed from Bihar and Bengal, who work for their livelihood, around the compound wall of collapsed complex in the Kondhawa area. As per the report, the height of the wall is approximately 20ft, which belonged to an apartment complex. Mr. K Venkatesham, the police commissioner, asserted that the investigation for the causes of the wall collapsed, strong actions would be taken against those the persons responsible for the construction. In addition, Mr. Naval Kishore Ram, the district collector, stated that the matter is very serious and the negligence attitude of the construction company is another abominable issue. Therefore, necessary actions have to be taken those related with construction. So far, no FIR have been registered against any contractor or builder. Therefore, police are still under investigation in connection with the concerned tragedy. Now, this has arisen the question of labourers’ safety on the constructions sites.]]>
