The Customs Department has captured two Sri Lankan men and eight ladies at Kempegowda International Airport ,Bengaluru for purportedly carrying gold concealed in their bodies, authorities said on Monday.
In view of a clue, the Customs officials made the captures on Saturday evening.
The accused went from Colombo air terminal installed SriLankan Airlines Flight UL 171 alongside 140 other passengers. They had disguised the fluid gold in their rectum and should be given to overseers in Bengaluru.
The gathering was interceded by the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of the Bengaluru Customs Department while they were headed to the movement narrows. After intensive assessment, the officials found that the 10 blamed had stowed away the gold worth over Rs 1 crore in glue structure. The detectives are directing further examinations to recognize the Bengaluru handlers. The denounced will be additionally grilled to find out the source and catch the entire gold carrying group.
