Ramanathapuram: In order to curb the illegal sand smuggling, stringent action is taken against sand smuggling in all over the district by the special team constituted by the Ramanathapuram district superintendent of police.
Tr.Pugazhenthi Ganesh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Thiruvadanai and his police team seized 10 tipper lorries, 04 Hitachi excavator and 01 Jeep on the charges of illegal sand smuggling near Keeramangalam Dank tarn, on the complaint of village administrative officer of Arasoor group. The police team also nabbed Saleem (57), Asaithambi (34) for their involvement in the above said sand smuggling.
