RAIPUR: In an encounter in insurgency-hit Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday two Special Task Force (STF) personnel, including an assistant platoon commander were killed. The encounter took place in the Tumdiwal jungles, a region under Mardapal police station. “Assistant platoon commander Krishna Kindo, and a constable, Jitendra Dwivedi, with the STF were martyred in the incident”, said Mr. DM Awasthi, Special Director General of Police (anti-naxal operations). A joint team of the STF and district force launched the operation on Wednesday morning in the jungles nearly 50 km from the Kondagaon district headquarters, Mr. Awasthi said. Maoists were also killed in the encounter but no bodies have been recovered till now, say reports.
