<![CDATA[Award recognizes gallantry in saving life and property as well as distinguished service Twenty-two Delhi Police officers and 31 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel have been conferred Police Medals for exemplary service. In the Delhi Police, the President’s Police Medal for Gallantry has been awarded to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mr. Attar Singh, Inspector Mr. Rajinder Kumar and Inspector Mr. Ravinder Kumar Tyagi. Mr. Tyagi was part of the 2008 encounter at Batla House in Delhi in which two suspected terrorists, Atif alias Bashir and Mohd. Sajid alias Pankaj, were killed. The President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service has been awarded to Additional Commissioner of Police Mr. Kamal Kant Vyas and ACP Mr.Surender Kumar Dahiya. Mr. Vyas was Deputy Commissioner of Police (Economic Offences Wing) where, for the first time, history sheets of economic offenders were prepared. The Police Medal for Meritorious Service has been awarded to DCPs Mr. Rajveer Singh Chauhan, MR. Asif Mohd Ali, Mr. Sanjay Bhatia, Mr. Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Additional DCP Ms. Varsha Sharma, ACP Ms. Shashi Bala, Inspectors Mr. Som Nath Paruthi, Mr. Sandeep Malhotra, Mr. Raj Kumar, Mr. Krishan Prakash, Mr. Suresh Maskeen, Assistant Sub-Inspector Mr.Jitender Dogra, Head Constables Mr. Kishan Chand, Mr. Dev Kumar, Mr. Subhash Kumar, Mr. Ranbir Singh and Mr. Satish Kumar. In the CISF, the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service was awarded to Deputy Inspector General Mr. Nand Gopal Gupta and Commandant Mr. Yashwant Singh. The Police Medal for Meritorious Service has been awarded to DIG Ms. Nilima Rani Singh, Senior Commandants Mr. Vertul Singh, Mr. Zhoponeyi Zuo, Mr. Nirvikar, Mr. Pasupati Pratap Singh, Mr. Arun Singh, Ms. Divya Shukla, Mr. Anand Saxena and Ms. Piyali Sharma, Commandant Mr. Manmohan Kumar, Assistant Commandant Mr. Amarjeet Singh, Inspectors Suvrat Vasistha, , Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Mr. Kuldeep Singh Rathore, and Mr. Naresh Kumar, ASIs Mr. S Subramanyam, Mr. Ponturu Vijay Kumar, Mr. Balbir Singh, Mr. Arshad Ali, Mr. M S Gopa Kumar, Mr. Lekh Raj, Mr. Bhupender Singh, Mr. Vasu Dev, and Kirtan Lal Paikra. The President’s Fire Service Medal for Distinguished Service was awarded to Head Constable Mr. Neravanda Ponnappa Subbaiah and Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service to Assistant Commandant Mr. Sabbella Venkata Reddy and ASI Mr. Halleppa. The Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak, in recognition of indomitable courage, was conferred to Constable Mr. Satyen Singh. The Jeevan Raksha Padak was given to Constable Mr. Puran Mal Verma.]]>
