Addressing the gathering, DGP emphasized that real-world scenarios differ from theoretical learning, urging everyone to treat each other with equality and devoid of ego. He stressed the importance of fostering positive relationships and cooperation with all segments of society, and carrying out duties in accordance with the law. He also highlighted the significance of maintaining good behavior, as any misconduct reflects poorly on the Government, the Department, and one’s family.
DGP underscored the necessity for prompt and timely responses when victims seek justice, especially in cases involving women, urging against negligence. He cited the recent acid attack in Eluru as an example of the force’s dedication, where swift action led to the sentencing of the three accused to 20 years imprisonment in just 3.5 months, alongside providing compensation to the victim’s family.
He further disclosed that in the past year, the responsibility of overseeing investigations for 122 crucial cases was entrusted to district SPs, resulting in penalties for all of them. This year, SPs have been allocated 50 cases each, with 30 of them already resulting in severe punishment.
The implementation of the Disha app for women’s safety and anti-corruption measures was announced, with over 1.24 crore individuals already registered in the Disha app. A Social Media cell has been established statewide to curb social media-related crimes, abuse, and trends.
