In their ongoing efforts to eliminate drug-related issues from society, the police apprehended three drug peddlers in Ganderbal and Awantipora and confiscated illicit substances from their possession.
In Ganderbal, two drug peddlers, identified as Shabir Ahmad Zargar and Mohd Ashraf Zargar, both residents of Batwina, were arrested by a police party led by Incharge Police Post Shadipora under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal. The arrest took place at a checkpoint in Batwina, where Codeine Phosphate, Petril Clonazepam, and Spasmo-Proxyvon Plus Capsules were recovered from their possession. They have been taken to the Police Station and are currently in custody.
In Awantipora, a suspicious individual was intercepted by a police party led by Incharge PP Reshipora SI Ishfaq Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora, Mr. Mumtaz Ali Bhatti – JKPS, at a checkpoint in Kawani Brabandin. During a search, 600 grams of charas powder were seized from the person, identified as Arshid Ahmad Dar, a resident of Ladermand Awantipora. He has been arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he is currently in custody.
Cases have been registered at the respective police stations under the relevant sections of the law, and investigations are underway.
