Bhubaneswar: On Wednesday, it was announced by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department that three senior IPS officers from the Odisha cadre have been promoted to the rank of Director General (DG) of Police in Level-16 of the pay matrix. The promoted officers are Mr. Sudhanshu Sarangi, Mr. Arun Kumar Sarangi, and Mr. Yogesh Bahadur Khurania.
Mr. Sudhanshu Sarangi and Mr. Arun Kumar Sarangi are currently serving in their parent cadre. Mr. Sudhanshu Sarangi, a 1990 batch IPS officer, is known for his outstanding work in several high-profile cases, including the arrest of dreaded criminal Syed Usman Ali, who had been on the run for several years.
Mr. Arun Kumar Sarangi, also a 1990 batch IPS officer, has served in several key positions during his long and illustrious career. He is known for his expertise in intelligence gathering and has worked extensively in the field of counter-terrorism.
Mr. Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, who is presently on central deputation, has been given the DG grade in Level-16 of the pay matrix. He is a 1990 batch IPS officer and is recognized for his exceptional work in the field of law and order. During his tenure as the Commissioner of Police in Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, he implemented several innovative measures that helped to curb crime in the region.
The promotion of these officers to the rank of DG is a recognition of their exemplary service to the state of Odisha. It is expected that their experience and expertise will be invaluable in further strengthening the law and order situation in the state.
