Bhubaneswar: In Bhubaneswar, four members of a gang have been detained by the police for their alleged involvement in a forceful eviction of a homeowner. According to reports, the gang, consisting of approximately 20 individuals, arrived at a house under the Airport police limits in the city on Wednesday and intimidated its owner. They were carrying knives, swords, and hockey sticks and had come in a car. The gang threatened the homeowner and then proceeded to throw the furniture outside. The gang also reportedly beat up the homeowner’s wife and warned others who attempted to come to the couple’s aid.
Upon receiving reports from the locals about the gang’s violent behavior, the police were alerted. However, by the time the police arrived, the gang had already left in their car. As per the locals, the gang is hired to carry out forceful eviction of occupants from properties and houses.
After conducting an investigation, the police were able to trace and detain four members of the gang on Thursday. The car that the gang had used in the crime was also seized by the police. They have launched further investigations to locate other members of the gang, and the detained persons are being questioned.
