<![CDATA[A 42-year-old inter-State arms supplier was arrested on Sunday, the police told, adding that they have seized 17 sophisticated pistols and 10 spare magazines from his possession. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Mr.P.S. Kushwah told the teams arrested Khazan Singh near Ashram Chowk after they received a confidential piece of information on his arrival. Mr. Kushwah told that an information was received stating that Mr. Singh had procured weapons from Madhya Pradesh and will come to Delhi to supply the consignment. A trap was laid after which he was arrested. During interrogation, Mr. Singh who belonged from Mathura, allegedly told the police that he had been supplying arms for the past two years. Also, the accused added that he used to buy pistols from a manufacturer in Madhya Pradesh’s Signur and would further supply them in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. The DCP told that he came in contact with the arms manufacturer through a person from his village who used to do the same. He had met the said person in jail where he was lodged for a murder case. In 2016, when the person got arrested, he started purchasing and selling arms himself. The police claimed that Mr. Singh has sold more than 700 pistols in the last two years. He used to buy them for Rs.10,000 and sell it for Rs. 20,000-25,000. Mr. Kushwah added stating he started his criminal career about 25 years ago. He has 12 cases registered against him on charges of murder, attempt to arms act among others.]]>
