Siliguri: The 9th Annual Sports Meet of Siliguri Police Commissionerate was held at Mallaguri Police Line ground on 23.2.22 and 24.2.22 with great pomp and pageantry.
The opening ceremony was graced by Mr. Gaurav Sharma IPS CP Siliguri, Mr. S. Poonambalam IAS DM Darjeeling, and our special invitee Mr. Sahadeo Kr Rai, Boxer, and Olympian.
In the closing ceremony Mr. D.P. Singh IPS, Inspector General of Police, North Bengal and Mr. Amit P Javalgi, DIG, Darjeeling Range, Mr. Anoop Jaiswal, DIG Raiganj Range graced the occasion as the chief guest and special guests respectively as well as senior officers from the Districts of North Bengal were present as special guests to witness and participate in some of the events.
Officers and men of all ranks and units under SPC participated in the events and gave in their best performances.
The seven participating teams are Nissan Tolly, Lady Contingent, Cap Contingent, Winners Contingent, East Zone Contingent, West Zone Contingent and The Traffic Contingent dressed in their colorful attire displayed a magnificent march past drill which is appreciated.
The winning teams and individuals were presented with trophies by the Hon’ble Guests.
More importantly, Siliguri Metropolitan Police congratulated every team and individual for their participation in the events and showing their true sportsmanship.
The closing ceremony was followed by a “Barakhana” for all the participants in which Mr. D.P. Singh IPS IGP North Bengal, Mr. Gaurav Sharma IPS CP Siliguri, and all the Senior Police officers of the Districts of North Bengal served food to the participants.
