Tirupur: It took just 90 minutes for police to rescue six-year-old school boy S Ariya Narasimmam near Dharapuram who was kidnapped on July 28 morning. A Class I student of a private CBSE school at Bridgeway Colony Extension, Tirupur, was whisked away by a youth on a two-wheeler from the school premises after the boy got down from school vehicle. Ariya’s father is a doctor who runs a hospital at Avinashi Road. The driver of the van got suspicious after he saw the boy being taken away by a youth, he informed the school who in turn contacted the parents. The parents told the school that they did not send anybody to take the boy. Tirupur North police obtained a CCTV footage from the school administration and alerted all the check posts in the district. Police found the kidnapper with Ariya sitting on the bike during a vehicle check on Palani Road, at Dharapuram around 10 am. Ariya was rescued by the police Devaraj (24) of Rasingapuram, Theni district was arrested. Devaraj was related to the boy and worked at the hospital run by Dr Senthil Kumar, he left the job a few months ago after a dispute. Devaraj had kidnapped the boy to extort Rs 2.5 crore from the boy’s family, police said. ]]>
