Thiruvananthapuram: In order to control crime and to apprehend criminals who are involved in Wild Life crime and to protect the wildlife from being hunt down by poachers it was decided to set up a Wildlife Crime Investigation Unit in the police. This will enable them to jointly investigate forest crimes. The unit will consist of officers from the Police and Forest Departments.
