Hyderabad: The Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad city said the Sleuths of Commissioner’s Taskforce, East Zone Team, Hyderabad city, apprehended one notorious Interstate chain snatcher by name Shanker Rao Biradar, who committed one bike theft and 02-cases of Chain snatchings in the limits of Langerhouse Police Station, Kachiguda Police Station, and SR Nagar Police Station respectively.
The police recovered intact 02-gold mangal sutra chains weighing about 5.5tulas and one Bajaj Pulsar 150 cc Bike bearing registration number B.No.TS12EL6308, from his possession.
The details of the arrested offender are as follows:-
Shanker Rao Biradar, age 36 yrs, and whose present resident of Above SBI Bank, Katedan, Hyderabad, N/o Prakash Nagar, Lathur Dist, Maharashtra.
Property Recovered from the accused are as follows:
- 02-Mangalsutram chains weighing 5.5 tulas
- One Bajaj Pulsar 150 CC Bike Bearing registration No.TS12EL6308.
- One VIVO cell phone
The Modus Operandi of the accused, Shanker Rao Biradar who hails from Prakash Nagar, Latur District of Maharashtra State is as follows.
He is notorious interstate chain Snatcher. Earlier in the month of September-2018, he was arrested by Hadapsar Police station of Pune city, Maharashtra in 47 cases (i.e., 33 chain snatchings cases and 14 bike theft cases). He committed above offenses in 20 various police stations i.e., PS Deccan-6 cases, PS Alankar-5, PS Swargate-5, PS Bharti Vidyapeeth–3, PS Chatrushringi–3, PS Kondhawa-3, PS Vishrambag-3, etc., and sent to Yerwada Central Prison for judicial remand.
In the last week of June-2020, he was released on bail from Yerwada Jail. After releasing from jail the accused did not mend his way and he again decided to commit chain snatching offenses and earn easy money. Accordingly in the first week of July 2020, he came to Hyderabad.
On 19-07-2020 he stole one Bajaj Pulsar 150cc bike in the limits of PS Langer house and conducted recce in isolated areas of Hyderabad city to commit chain snatchings. In this process on 26-07-2020, he committed 02-chain snatching offenses in the limits of PS Kachiguda and PS SR Nagar respectively.
The case is detected by watching CCTV footages, using Photo enhancement software, ITMS (Integrated Traffic Management System) and other advance technologies the Commissioner’s Task Force, East Zone Team apprehended the accused and recovered intact 02-gold
mangal sutra chains weighing about 5.5 tulas and one stolen Bajaj Pulsar 150 cc Bike bearing registration No.TS12EL6308 which was also used for the commission of the offense.
The arrested accused along with recovered property was handed over to SHO, Kachiguda PS, for taking further action against him.
The above arrest was made under the supervision of Mr. G.Chakravarthy, IPS, Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, Mr. K.Srinivas, Inspector of Police, Mr. Ch.Yadender, Detective Inspector of Police, PS Kachiguda, East Zone Task Force Team, SI’s Mr. C.Venkatesh, Mr. G.Srinivas Reddy, Mr. Govindu Swamy and the staff of East Zone Task Force Team, Hyderabad city.
