Rachakonda: To inculcate road safety issues and spread Road Safety Awareness Mr. Mahesh. M. Bhagwat IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda implementing innovative and contemporary technologies. Based on the success of a pilot project of installing Know Your speed Boards- Speed radars along with electronic display boards on Nehru ORR, in the limits of Rachakonda, tech support done by Ador Agency of Maharashtra. The devices which will work round the clock and will remain unhindered by rain or fog. These devices are installed at another four locations on NH163 viz., Nandanavanam-Narapally, HPCL Junction, AIMS – Bhongir, and Singannagidem by creating awareness and prevent speeding, which is sponsored by M/S Jagath Swapna Realtor Pvt. Ltd. represented by Mr. Divakar Rao Nilagiri and Mr. Vamsi Krishna Pendyala.
Mr. Mahesh. M. Bhagwat IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda quoted that, “Doing the right thing when no one is watching you” is the ethic which is neglected by most of the motorists who tend over speed. Analysis and reports read that speeding and driver negligence is the leading cause of fatal accidents, annually about 1, 50, 000 are losing their lives in road accidents annually in our country and most of the time people don’t realize how fast they are going. The system will alert the people who cross the speed limit and provide positive reinforcement to those driving within the limit and self-control’. Dynamic enforcement of over speeding will be done on NH-163 along with educating the drivers. Dr. Mohara Ghosh who is newly elected as Jt.Secretary Rachakonda Security Council Traffic Forum would select the ‘Traffic Volunteers’ on a private partnership basis to regulate the traffic. Rachakonda Commissioner of Police conveyed greetings to Mr. N. Divyacharan Rao, DCP, Traffic on his superannuation (retirement) on 31.7.2020 which is the last working day. In a bid to regulate traffic and ease congestion at Junctions, Public Addressing (PA) systems are being installed at two junctions viz., Uppal X roads and ECIL X roads, to educate about traffic rules and crime prevention. It helps in guiding the pedestrians, vehicle drivers, and other road users to ensure safety and free flow of traffic. Amid COVID-19 pandemic it is also useful in making announcements of the precautions to be taken, other aspects like identifying the haphazardly parked vehicles that often led to traffic chaos.
