Rachakonda: The facts of the case are that the marriage of deceased Mrs. Ritu Sareen, 29 years, Air Hostess of Jet Airways was solemnized with accused A1 Sachin Uppal on 30-11-2013. At the time of marriage cash of Rs.5 lakhs, gold ornaments of worth Rs.6 lakhs, and other expenses all worth Rs. 16 lakhs were given to A1 as demanded by A1 Sachin Uppal and his mother A2 Mrs. Sima Uppal. The Al who was running an electronic business at Koti, Hyderabad incurred loss in his business.
Consequently, issues prevailed between the couple. Al used to suspect the fidelity of the deceased The A1 and A2 have subjected the deceased to harassment and cruelty demanding an additional dowry of Rs.10 lakhs. On 17-11- 2014, the deceased was blessed with a male boy. But the Al demanded to get the deceased tested for DNA report alleging that the boy was not born to him. The accused A3 Kotagiri Rakesh Kumar is a college friend of Al. On 19-04-2015 A1 and A3 consumed beer in a Bar and at 11.00 pm they went to the house of AL A3 was changing TV channels to watch cricket matches. But the deceased objected him and also reprimanded him. On that, Al picked up a quarrel and started beating the deceased with hands. In that process, the deceased sustained a head injury and died. The accused Al tried to screen the evidence Based on the complaint of Mrs. Ujala Sareen, mother of the deceased, on 20-04-2015 Sr Y.Narsimha Reddy. Former Inspector of Police.
Uppal Police Station initially registered a case U/S 302, 304 B IPC, and took up the investigation. During the course of the investigation, he examined the complainant and recorded her statement. He visited the scene of the crime and conducted a scene of offense panchanama. Thereafter, Mr. M Ravichandran Reddy, ACP Malkajgiri division took up the investigation and collected evidence. The accused Al and A3 were arrested and sent to judicial remand. The accused A3 was served with notice U/s 41 a Cr.P.C. On completion of the investigation, the accused A1 was charged for the offense U/s 302, 304B, 498A, 406, 201 IPC & Sec.3, 4 & 6 of the D.P Act. The accused A2 was charged for the offense U/s 498 A IPC & Sec.3, 4 & 6 of the D.P Act. The accused A3 was charged for the offense U/S 202, 203 IPC. During the trial, today on 18-08-2020, the Rangareddy Court Hon’ble II ADJ Seshu Babu Garu at LB Nagar convicted the accused Al Sachin Uppal to undergo Life imprisonment conviction and imposed a fine of Rs10,000/-. The accused A2 and A3 were acquitted. The 1.Os Mr. Y. Narsimha Reddy formerly Inspector of Police, Uppal Police Station, now working as ACP Malkajgiri Division, Mr. M. Ravichandan Reddy, formerly ACP Malkajgiri Division and Addl.P.P Mr. C. Ramu and CDO Mr. K.Shekar of Uppal Police Station have attended on behalf of the prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS., closely monitored the trial of this case in getting the mock trial conducted by refreshing the memories of witnesses which resulted in getting a life imprisonment conviction to accused A1. The C.P personally visited the court and appreciated the SHO Uppal Mr. N Ch Rangaswamy, first 10 of the case Mr.Y.Narsimha Reddy, Addl P.P Mr. C.Ramu, and Court duty officers who have done a good job in securing the conviction and announced a reward to them.
