Rachakonda: On 13-07-2016 in the early hours, the deceased Mrs. Yadamma, 80 years who lived in Plot No.159. Adityanagar, Gurramguda, Saroornagar Mandal, RR District died under suspicious circumstances with a head injury and nail marks on the throat. In this regard, on 13-07-2016 at 1640 hours, her daughter Mrs. Kunchala Kondamma lodged a complaint with Meerpet Police Station. Based on the contents of the complaint, the Station House Officer (SHO) initially registered a case U/S 174 Cr.P.C vides Cr.No.503/2016 and the investigation was taken up.
On 17-07-2016, the case was detected by arresting the accused B. Kondaiah, 45 years who is the son of the deceased. Later, the section of the law was altered from 174 Cr.P.C to 302, 201 IPC. The investigation revealed that the accused is a native of Prakasham district. He migrated to the city along with his mother, sister, and two brothers. As the accused was an alcoholic he was not getting any work for earning his livelihood and was facing financial problems. On selling the ancestral property his mother got a share of Rs.1, 00,000/-. She gave said money to one Sathyanarayana as a loan on an interest basis. Mr. Sathyanarayana used to pay the interest amount of Rs.3000 to them every month. The accused who was in a financial crisis had insisted on his mother giving money. But she refused to give money because of his bad vices. Therefore he hatched a plan and decided to kill his mother.
According to his plan, on 12 July 2016 night, they all had dinner and slept. In the early hours at about 0400 hours, while his wife and son were in deep sleep, he woke up and came out from his room, knocked on the door of his mother’s room. When his mother opened the door he forcibly pushed her into the room due to which she fell down on the floor. Then he hit her head to the cot due to which she received severe head injuries. When she made hue and cry he gauged a cloth into her mouth and throttled her neck with hands and killed her. Having confirmed her death, he removed her blood-stained clothes and burnt them. He also cleaned the bloodstains at the scene of offense with the intent to screen the evidence. Later he clad his dead mother’s in other clothes and created the scene as if she fell down and died due to head injury.
The 10 Mr. N.Ch Ranga Swamy. Inspector of Police. Meerpet Police Station remanded the accused to judicial custody and on completion of the investigation, he filed a charge sheet in the court.
During the trial, today, 28-10-2020, the Hon’ble XIV ADJ Court at L.B Nagar convicted the accused Burusu Kondaiah s/o Late Kotaiah, aged 45 years to undergo Life imprisonment conviction and imposed a fine of Rs2,000/. The first 10 Mr. C. Venkataiah. Sub-Inspector of Police now is working at LB Nagar Police Station and second 10 Mr. N Ch. Ranga Swamy, Inspector of Police now working at Uppal Police Station and Additional. P.P Mr. T. Balaiah and CDO Mr. G. Bheemaiah have attended on behalf of the prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS., closely monitored the trial of this case which resulted in getting Life Imprisonment conviction to the accused. The C.P personally visited the court and felicitated the Additional.P.P Mr. T.Balaiah and CDO and also appreciated the 10s, present SHO of Meerpet Police Station Mr. Mahender Reddy, ACP Vanasthalipuram division Mr. Shankar and DCP LB Nagar Zone Mr. Sanpreet Singh IPS., who have done a good job in securing the conviction and also announce them reward.
