Rachakonda: The Hon’ble II Addl. MM Magistrate Mrs. G. Kavitha Devi conducted the speedy trial on PD detenues in two house burglary cases of Meerpet Police Station committed by Inter-state notorious Dacoity/House burglary gang (Cheddi Gang) and sentenced 4 gang members to undergo (03) years Rigorous Imprisonment in each case and imposed fine Rs 10,000/- to each accused.
All four notorious offenders hailed from Sahada village, Garbada Mandal, Dahod District of Gujarat state and belong to the same community. Among them, three offenders viz… 1) Rama Badhiya, 2) Kishan Badhiya 3) Ravoji Badhiya are brothers. The four offenders along with others formed into a Gang and started committing Dacoity House burglaries to make easy money to meet their lavish expenses.
The Gang adopted peculiar modus Operandi that they wear Chaddi/ half pant and Baniyans while committing the offenses enabling them to an easy escape from Police as well as from Public as such they named after “Chaddi Gang”. They have chosen Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states for committing the House burglaries. The Gang used to come to Hyderabad or any other selected areas by trains from their Home town and select nearby colonies and will have a recce in the day time. During the night time, the Gang members commit House burglaries by arming with deadly weapons. Even, they will not hesitate to attack the persons, who try to resist them and they will pelt stones to create fear in the Public. Thus, they have started committing House burglaries since 2011 and indulged as many as (28) House Burglaries in the Police Station limits of Rachakonda, Cyberabad, Hyderabad City Police Commissionerates, and in the Police Station limits of Gajuwaka. MR Pally, Alipiri, CCS, Thirupathy, Duvvada Police Station, and Thiruchanoor of Andhra Pradesh State.
The Meerpet Police and SOT lead by Mr. Ravi Kumar, Inspector, arrested five accused of the Gang on 01-08-2018 and remanded them to judicial custody. Police recovered stolen property i.e. gold ornaments weighing about 400 grams and 1.5 kg of silver ornaments all worth Rs. 3,50,000/- from the possession of all arrested accused persons. One of them namely Ganava Bharatha Singh died in jail due to ill health. Since the activities of the offenders are prejudicial to the maintenance of the Public.
Order, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Mr. Mahesh M. Bhagwat IPS had invoked PD Act against them on 10-12-2018 and detained them in Central Prison, Cherlapally, and also addressed a letter to the Hon’ble MSJ Court at LB Nagar with a prayer to conduct the speedy trial of their cases.
Accordingly, the Hon’ble II MM Magistrate Mrs. G. Kavitha Devi conducted a speedy trial of 2 cases and convicted all the four accused on 05-11-2020 and sentenced them to undergo (03) years Rigorous Imprisonment in each case and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000/- to each accused.
The then SHO, Mr. Madhusudhan, Inspector. 10 Mr. K. Sathyanarayana, Detective Inspector of Police, Meerpet Police Station, APP., Mr. P. Krishna Murthy, and CDOS 1) Mr. B. Seetha Rami Reddy, HC-2773, 2) Mr. K.Srinivasa Reddy, HC-3056 have attended on behalf of the prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat IPS., closely monitored the trial of these cases which resulted in getting (03) years conviction to the accused. The C.P. has appreciated APP, I0, CDOS, the staff of PD Cell, Inspector SOT, and the team who have done a good job in not only apprehension but in securing convictions. All will be suitably rewarded.
